Yesterday, the Governor General of Canada delivered the speech from the Throne, as prepared by our Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The purpose of this speech is to lay out the priorities and vision for the upcoming session of Parliament. It ended with an interesting blessing: "Honourable Members of the Senate and Commons, yours is a most important task. May Divine Providence guide you in your deliberations."
