Barrhead/Neerlandia ARPA started in June, 2009 with a lot of interest from the Canadian and United Reformed churches in Neerlandia and Barrhead. Since then they have hosted events about the human rights commissions, understanding how the Canadian political system works, and multiculturalism.  The group also sent two delegations to the Alberta Legislature in the spring of 2011 to meet with MLAs and discuss a variety of issues. They have a membership of about 60 people from the area.
